A web venture by the Domainer and Blogger Namecake is enjoying some serious success. The domain name OilPrice.com which NameCake developed into a website full blown website over the last year has gone from 10,000 unique visitors per month since our last report in November 2009 -- to 100,000 unique visitors in May 2010, and it's continuing on a high growth trajectory path.
NameCake went off the blogging radar in late 2009 to focus on development and it has paid off. Shortly after the Fusible story about NameCake staying busy with development, James of NameCake wrote in to let us know that the site at the time - boasted paid journalists and the site's content was distributed to over 80 sites online.
And that was in November.
In its first year of dedicated development, OilPrice.com is enjoying thousands of page views per day that could have never been realized through a simple parked page - validating how important development can be at unlocking the potential of a name.
