From an idea to reality: A day on the road of helping the homeless

In the last few days Michelle put this character/set up together, I helped a little, and this morning we were to give it a test drive.

Our goal was to find homeless with cardboard. Those not actively were organization, those who work in the corners not our goal. It was difficult, because we think we can leave the House have too late, and most are on the streets here in South Florida working for organizations or not active.

Murphy's law exist there today. Our first person we saw him from a distance. He was a police officer chat. Shook hands and he walked away. He went back to the officer and said something. A minute later, he was handcuffed and was taken away.

Our second person found it interesting, we gave him some donuts and coffee, explains the concept and asked for feedback. He liked it but as part of an organisation, could not participate. He suggested we talk with the Organization and you work with. It is a good suggestion.

We then met Barney. He was very interested. Again we provided some donuts and coffee, and asked for feedback. He was very interested and liked the idea. Barney is about 60 years old and a Carpenter was early in life. Within minutes he took the characters, and tried it out. Not five seconds with the shield, he approached a car, asked "You have garbage?" "I am a collector trash". The woman looked at him, laughed and tipped it (without something throw).

This was the highlight of the day for us. We then drove to a little more. Didn't find any other Suiters so decided to give away the rest of the donuts and coffee we had. The donuts were popular and were gone at a local park in seconds.

It was a challenge and we had a great time. I don't think it would be easy by any means and it really wasn't. It was rewarding to see how it works for Barney. From here on Michelle said continue and give the rest of the characters that made you away and follow-up. Who knows, you might what to do?

Have a great day!
